A "ducky" sweater

I finished a sweater for grandson number 3 last night, um, early this morning, as in 1am. Couldn't sleep. The little guy was going to a cousin's softball tournament today and it was perfect sweater weather, as opposed to coat, mitten, and hat weather that we had just last week.
The sweater is called "duck soup" and I found it on anny purl's blog. Why is it called "duck soup"? Because "duck soup" is slang for a task that is easily accomplished and one that does not require much effort. Aha! That would sum up this jacket. Knit from the top down in one piece in bulky yarn and the only seam is the top of the hood. I made it even easier by using a button on the left front instead of an i-cord knot. And the little model makes the sweater cute rather than the other way round. It was a hit with his Mommy so another one is on the needles for his brother.

It's got growing and moving room. Both of which the pattern author intended.

One cute little guy in his cute little sweater! I love it when a project is a fun quick knit and a hit besides! (full details on ravelry on my project page)

  1. That turned out great! I've seen/heard about Duck soup but the other photos were not very clear. I'll have to add it to the "Gotta Do List" What color will the next one be?

  5. Oh Debby he is darling in it! I had never heard of this pattern and am going to go check it out on Ravelry. I have about 5 things on the needles that are all almost done (it only seems like on my blog I never knit - I do, just haven't finished anything LOL!).

And I'm so glad that you and your daughter are enjoying the book reviews. :)
