She's 22 today! But she's our never grow up Peter Pan. Almost 13 years ago God asked us to do something in response to our prayers that was totally unexpected. Adopt a 10 year old little girl that was profoundly deaf and very delayed. But that's the way God sometimes works. And we were blessed beyond our expectations. I didn't understand how much I could love a child that wasn't born to me until she was placed in my arms. It felt exactly the same as when my newborns were placed in my arms. She added so much to our family: laughter, Patience, a new language, a little sister that was always wished for, another child, and a tiny inkling of the way God loves us as His adopted children. I could list so much more. I'm just thankful that we were chosen to be her family and that we obeyed!
Happy Birthday sweetie! I know you will have a special one.
ReplyDeleteDeb, e mail me please....I have a package for her.....
This made me cry! I am sooooo glad God made Sheggy part of our family!
ReplyDeleteYou are such an awesome lady and I'm glad I'm getting to know you.
ReplyDeleteShe is beautiful and I hope she had a wonderful birthday!
Thanks for stopping by my blog- what a testimony and encouragement other adoptive moms are to me! We aer stepping out in faith to bring Tori home, we don't know all her medical details yet, but it's not going to be easy. One of our other daughters has Spina Bifida so we are no strangers to physical needs but we are not sure of what Tori's cognitive abilities are. Thank you for your prayers!
